    As summer comes to a close, fall creeps up and so does heading back to school. Of course this means new schedules, school clothes shopping and school supplies. But I just found a great way to give and receive at Woodburn Company Stores. Right now thru labor day, WCS is supporting education by helping the nonprofit organization Schoolhouse Supplies Annual Back-to-School supply drive. Basically, while you’re shopping at Woodburn for all those great deals on back-to-school clothes, you can also drop off brand-new school supplies that will go to a free store for the Portland Public Schools. This helps teachers and children that are in need of supplies for the classroom,but cannot afford it for the new year.
    The best part is that you can take your donations to adidas and Helly Hansen for some incentive rewards! Adidas will reward each person who donates at least five of the basic school supplies with a free adidas sackpack. Helly Hansen will honor donors with a free tee shirt (limit one gift per family while supplies last). School supply donations can also be dropped off at Woodburn Company Stores’ Customer Service office during regular business hours, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
     What a great way to start off the school year, right ladies? Not only do we get to spend a day outdoors shopping, but we also get to help those in need. Who knew school clothes shopping could be so rewarding? Thought I would share the good news. If anyone else knows of a great back-to-school charity, please share!
