Hey, Ladies!

So as many of you have noticed, my blog has mostly been about great deals on fabulous items, new trends, gift ideas and even sparkling, clean bathrooms. Yet, what I haven't covered is that sometimes people do things to fashion that shouldn't be done. Now that we're in the smack-dab middle of summer, there are a few things that I have noticed people tend to do every year -- and it's not pretty! So I'm here to help. Here are a few helpful hints and examples to make sure that you never commit a fashion faux pas again!

First of all, NEVER wear socks with sandals, no matter what. For some reason, people feel the need to wear open-toed shoes on a chilly day and think socks will be the cure, but they're not. It's confusing, and no one needs to see your dingy Jockey sock hanging out the back end of your Birkenstock or Croc. So, please, I beg of you, don't wear socks with sandals. It’s not flattering!

Also, be sure to not wear cut-off jean shorts with the pockets hanging out. I know at one time these seemed like a very popular choice, but trust me, they're not. Most of the time they're not so flattering and tend to make the fashion statement that you are in dire need of new clothes, not that you’re hot. Stay away from the especially short, short version on the cut-offs. Usually, if the pockets are hanging out, this means that the shorts have been cut off way too much. But if the pockets are still hidden, try to keep the cut-offs at a reasonable length. No one needs to see jean shorts that look more like jean underwear! Or better yet, throw those cutoffs out and just go buy yourself a new pair of cute shorts. There are so many to choose from and summer sales are on right now. I promise you’ll get a great deal.

Lastly, remember that it IS summer time and more than likely, you're wearing sandals or open-toed shoes much more than you usually do. I have to admit, I love being able to forget my socks for at least three months, but there's also something else that can be easy to forget......keeping your feet groomed! This can be a pain, but it's very important to have clean looking feet. Try to keep up on clipping and grooming. Using an extra topcoat for nail polish is always helpful in making the color last longer. Also, for chapped heels, try using a balm or special foot lotion to smooth them. That can make quite the difference! This way, your feet are always looking their best and are ready to go for any occasion!

So, those are just a few of my fashion "don’ts" for summer. If you ladies can think of any big ones I'm missing, please let me know. Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer and remember ladies, Shop On, Savvy Gals!
